Birth is a magical and profoundly intimate experience. It can be one of the most physically and emotionally intense moments of life. One of my mentors always said, “They don’t call it labor for nothing.” Having a trained, knowledgeable birth professional on your journey creates positive change in your experience. Numerous studies have shown that with the presence of a doula there are fewer
​interventions, less need/desire for pain medications, and a shorter labor time. 

Live Life Doula Package includes:

• 2 Prenatal House Visits (1-2 hrs each)
• Customized Birth Plan Wish List
• 24/7 on call support 3 weeks before EDD and 2 weeks after EDD
• Immediate Postpartum and Breastfeeding guidance/support 1-2 hrs after delivery
• 1 Postpartum visit at home -  usually day 3-5 after baby has been born (1-2 hrs)
• Access to various pregnancy, birth and postpartum related resources and services around the Bay Area

The first 36 weeks 

At your initial prenatal visit, I will discuss with you and your partner what you would like your birth to look like and how best to achieve that. I will provide various handouts of articles and samples of birth plans to discuss during our next prenatal visit. The 2nd visit is generally a few weeks after the first where we will go over any questions you might have and formulate a customized birth plan wish list. I will be available for any questions or concerns via phone call, text, or email and will get back to you in a timely manner. 

37 weeks to Birth

From 37 weeks on, I will be on call 24/7. Once labor has been established and you are indeed in labor, I will join you and remain with you until baby is born. I will stay with you, whether hospital birth or home birth, and help establish initial skin to skin bonding and breastfeeding.

Postpartum Follow-up

Once mama and baby are settled, I will arrange for our postpartum visit from day 3 to 5 after baby is born. During this visit, we will go over your birth and any discomfort you might be experiencing, as well as baby care and breastfeeding tips, if needed. I will also bring your placenta capsules and go over the directions, should you choose to have this additional service ($200). I will also bring a special peri spray for after birth at no additional charge.
